Accepting Insurance - Coming Soon!
Updated: Aug 7, 2021
I have achieved my LPC status, meaning I may apply to be a participating provider for insurance companies. Some insurance companies panel providers within a month, while others can take a year or more. I intend to apply first to the insurance companies used by the majority of my current clients, including: Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Healthcare (UHC/UMR), Cigna, Aetna, and Tricare. If I am successful in navigating the insurance maze with these companies, I will add more insurance companies after that. It will take me approximately eight to twenty hours to fill out each insurance company application, as they are quite rigorous, so your patience is appreciated!
My practice hours for the next school year will generally be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please contact me if you would like to change slots, as I have a lot of people switching slots this time of year. For those on waitlists for other time slots, I am still waiting to hear back from the school district about school bus plans for this year. Limited practice hours require that clients take time away from work and school to attend sessions, and I hope to make session attendance easier by enabling clients to use their medical insurance. I look forward to becoming a participating provider in your insurance plan as soon as possible.
Some clients absolutely cannot make daytime appointments fit their schedule, particularly during the school year, and I have recently polled other local clinicians for availability on evenings and weekends. I have a list of providers that have current openings for evening and weekend sessions. If you would like a referral to one of these clinicians, please send me an email and I'd be glad to provide their contact information.
Thank you so much for bearing with me through these changes and I hope the net result is that therapy becomes more accessible for you! I will update on this again when I am paneled as a participating provider!
