Stress & Mood Disorders

Stress Mood Disorders have many names, including: Anxiety, Depression, Seasonal Affective Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, and many more.  Mood disorders can interfere with our relationships, work, social life, and many other parts of our lives.  Psychotherapy is an effective way to treat most mood disorders and learn preventative skills.

Parenting can be one of the toughest jobs in the world.  I am a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and I have completed hundreds of hours in training in attachment-based parenting methods for kids of all ages.  I with parents one-on-one, to help them  handle stressors and traumatic events, and create a home where their children can grow and thrive.

Relationships are vitally important to our lives - we are hard wired to be connected to other people.  The quality of those connections with others has a huge impact on our quality of life, for better or worse.  I view our relationships through the lens of attachment theory and focus treatment on improving how people relate to one another.

I have a certificate in Emotionally-Focused Therapy for Couples and have completed post-graduate training in multiple couples therapy modalities.  I also have completed training in improving attachment bonds between parents/caregivers and children.

Sexuality and LGBTQ+
Affirming Therapy

The discrimination and stigma faced by many members of the LGBTQ+ community can have an impact on well being.  As a competent LGBTQ+ affirming therapist, I am clinically knowledgeable of the unique challenges faced by our LGBTQ+ community and provide affirming and empowering treatment.  I have completed professional post-graduate training in counseling LGBTQ+ issues, transgender-affirming counseling, play therapy with LGBTQ+ children, and sexuality counseling.

Play Therapy

Play is the language of children.  Children communicate through their play about concepts they do not yet have the vocabulary for.  Children also "listen and learn" in a powerful way when engaged in play therapy.  I use evidence-based play therapy techniques to connect with children, help them heal, and learn healthy behaviors that can serve them for a lifetime.

I have completed hundreds of hours of professional training in Synergetic play therapy, Adlerian play therapy, play therapy with neurodiverse children, play therapy with LGBTQ+ children, and more.

Adolescent Therapy

Teenagers can struggle to connect with adults at a crucial time when they also must live under tremendous pressures and challenges.  The therapeutic relationship I cultivate with teens can empower teens to navigate their challenges effectively, learn new coping skills, and relate in healthy ways to friends, families, stressors, and goals.

I have completed specialized post-graduate training in adolescent therapy techniques and led counseling groups for adolescents.
